MaST

We are now recruiting for November 2012 - please download the course flyer for further information. Application deadline Thursday 25 October.

MaST (Mathematics Specialist Teacher) is an innovative and highly successful programme which will help you to become a more effective teacher of mathematics and will also enable you to support other teachers in your school to develop their teaching of mathematics.

I can definitely say that the children are enjoying maths more - I really can't praise the programme enough. It should be available to as many teachers as possible.

"The course design, content, assessment procedure and operation are commendable and comparable with the best international practice. The assessment framework is designed to aid student learning.
This course has made a great stride in enabling the students to take a broader view of mathematics as well as pedagogy.
Students have developed a love for their subject and have been able to reflect on the nature of mathematics beyond that of performing calculations.
The students' knowledge of mathematics has grown over the period of their course and they have become more reflective on their practice as well as on understanding of their pupils' thinking."
Professor Afzal Ahmed, External Examiner Annual Report, 2010/2011

Feedback from Teachers on the course

I am really enjoying the MaST programme; it is having a real positive on my teaching and my colleagues as well.
The MaST has helped me make mathematics fun!
The course is fantastic with loads of ideas you can take into the classroom the next day and plenty to work on for the future.
MaST has been far better than other training CPD courses I have attended.
The course has also had a significant impact on provision throughout my own school.
I can definitely say that the children are enjoying maths more - I really can't praise the programme enough. It should be available to as many teachers as possible.
